The Acting Inspector General of Police has announced that police officers who have been suspended or are set to rejoin active service for any reason must undergo drug testing as part of an investigation to uncover potential drug use.
They are required to take a drug test at the police hospital and the cost is to be borne by themselves.
In a letter to all officers, the Acting IGP emphasized that any officer found to have used drugs will not be allowed to return to active service.
Amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon has advised Sri Lankans to remain vigilant and exercise caution.
The Embassy has urged individuals to avoid crowded areas, nighttime outings, festivals, and long-distance travel temporarily.
Sri Lankans have also been advised to carry a copy of their Lebanese ID (Iqama ID) or passport when going outdoors.
