Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva issued a gazette declaring the Mannar Port under the purview of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Act.
This is effective November 01.
This will also facilitate the launch of a new passenger and cargo ferry service between Mannar and India.
