Steps have been taken to transfer inmates held under Section 54 at the Matara Prison to the Angunukolapelessa Prison after a branch had fallen on a section of the prison.
Matara Prison Superintendent Mangala Weliwita has said that the decision was taken due to the limited space in the Matara Prison following the accident.
