Former Minister Mervyn Silva, who was remanded over a land fraud using forged documents, has been transferred to the prison hospital ward.
Silva had been moved to the hospital ward within the prison for his safety, according to the Prisons Spokesman – Gamini B. Dissanayake.
He added that despite the transfer, no additional facilities were provided to the ex-minister.
Silva was arrested by the CID and remanded till March 17 after being produced before the Mahara Magistrate’s Court.
