The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for light showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts today.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers are expected in the Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds, ranging from 30-40 kmph, are anticipated in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, and in the Hambantota district.
The public is advised to take precautions to minimize potential damage from localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
