A stock of drugs worth nearly Rs.50 million sent to Sri Lanka from Germany was seized by the Customs Department at the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo.
It was reported that 4,956 pills of methamphetamine, which were carefully packed in a box made of cardboard, weighed more than two kilograms.
The Customs Department said the drug stock was sent from Germany to a person residing in Angoda by declaring it as personal items.
The drug stock has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
