Jaffna District Independent MP Ramanathan Archchuna has been granted bail by the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court.
He was arrested by police in Jaffna earlier in the day for allegedly obstructing the duties of police personnel in Anuradhapura.

MP Ramanathan Archchuna arrested
Jaffna District Independent MP Ramanathan Archchuna has been arrested today afternoon (Jan. 29).
He has been arrested by a special team of police officers in Jaffna, over allegedly obstructing the duties of police personnel in Anuradhapura.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga stated that the suspected MP is scheduled to be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court.
A Police investigation is also underway.
