The daily meal charge for Members of Parliament is to be increased from Rs. 450 to Rs. 2,000, according to House Committee member MP Gamagedara Dissanayake.
The decision has been taken during a recent House Committee meeting.
Leader of the House – Minister Bimal Rathnayake also stated that the revision aligns with actual market prices, as MPs previously benefited from concessionary rates for meals.
