Muzammil’s son in hiding after misleading the police!
Sri Lanka Police has issued a clarification over media reports related to the Uva Province Governor – A.J.M. Muzammil’s son, who is wanted over assaulting a woman.
A statement by the Police notes that neither the suspect nor his father have not informed the Police of his surrender and nor has the police accepted such a request.
The Wellawatte Police had received a complaint about the Governor’s son allegedly assaulting a woman at an apartment complex in the area, and the woman involved has been hospitalised, it adds.
The Police further notes that the suspect had misled the Police by placing his vehicle and mobile phone at a location in the Southern Province before going into hiding elsewhere.
