A 16-year-old boy lost his life after a muzzle-loader rifle went off in Agare, Ambanpola.
The victim was a resident of Kettapahuwa in Ambanpola.
Along with his parents, he had gone to the hut located in a coconut cultivation land in Agare.
The teeenager had stayed at the hut while his parents had gone out to the nearby paddy field.
The parents have heard a gunshot from the direction of the coconut cultivation land and then they have seen the son with gunshot wounds.
Investigation revealed that there was a muzzle-loader rifle nearby.
