Cabinet spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa today (Feb. 20) expressed regrets over the Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala referring to his driver as ‘Buruwa’ (donkey).
Video footage of Watagala, who was at the Hulftsdorp Court complex yesterday after the shooting incident, is seen calling his driver ‘Buruwa’ while summoning his vehicle. The footage had been making rounds on social media.

Responding to journalists during the weekly cabinet media briefing held today, Jayatissa acknowledged the stressful situation, but offered his regrets on behalf of the Deputy Minister’s remark, which is largely seen as inappropriate.
