A special nationwide census to assess wild animals damaging crops will be conducted tomorrow (March 15) from 8:00am – 8.05am.
Organized by the Ministries of Agriculture and Livestock, the initiative aims to collect data on the presence of animals such as Macaques, Langur monkeys, Giant squirrels and Peacocks in home gardens and farmlands.
Grama Niladharis will distribute census forms to the public in advance.
Those who do not receive a form are advised to note down the number of these animals observed within their premises during the designated five-minute window and submit the information to the local Grama Niladharis.
The Election Commission says that an ‘e-service’ has been made available to assist postal voters in locating their designated voting location and certifying officer.
The Commission noted that the platform also helps users identify candidates contesting the 2025 Local Government (LG) elections, along with their respective groups, parties, and election symbols.
Public officials can access this service by visiting eservices.elections.gov.lk , for detailed information on postal voting.
