The Ministry of Defence (MoD) states that 2,983 deserters from the tri-forces and police have been arrested between February 22 and May 30, 2025.
This includes 2,261 Army personnel, 194 from the Navy, and 198 from the Air Force.
Additionally, the Sri Lanka Police has also arrested 330 deserters.
