The National Elections Commission (NEC) is exploring the possibility of establishing mobile voting centres for people with mobility challenges, its Chairman, Attorney-at-Law Nimal Punchihewa said on Saturday (May 20).
Accordingly, the vote of such individuals will be collected upon visiting his/her residence, he noted, adding that current election laws must be amended in order to implement such measures.
He also noted that laws are being drafted to enable voters who are employed in several selected industries to cast their vote on the day before the election.
