Professor K.T.M. Udayanga Hemapala has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), following the resignation of Tilak Siyambalapitiya on May 11.
Prof. Hemapala, a former Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa.
The appointment was ratified at a CEB board meeting held on May 27, and officially disclosed in a filing with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on June 03.
