New methodology when applying for e-passports
The Department of Immigration and Emigration has introduced a new methodology to apply for e-passports, which is expected to come into effect from January 2025.
A media release in this regard states that under the new methodology, passports will be received on a priority basis, while it is available for both normal and one-day services.
Those applying for e-passports have been requested to make prior registration via the link https://www.immigration.gov.lk
