The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of new officials to two key positions.
Mrs. M.S.P. Sooriyapperuma has been appointed as Acting Commissioner General of Registration of Persons.
Mrs. Sooriyapperuma, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, is currently working as an Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security.
Meanwhile, Senior Special Grade Officer of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), U.D.N. Jayaweera has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner General of Excise.
