The accident between a CTB bus and a van claimed the lives of ten including seven men.

Another 21 persons sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at the Jaffna General hospital.

All who died were occupants of the van. The victims are residents of Horana, Milladeniya and were on their way to Jaffna on a pleasure trip.

The condition of two others who were travelling in the van and had sustained injuries in the crash is very critical, according to hospital sources.
