Three queues at five polling centres

The Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake noted that the number of queues at five polling centres in three districts has been increased upto three.

This decision had been taken as due to the large number of voters in these polling centres.

The increased number of queues at polling centres is in the Matara, Puttalam and Ratnapura districts.

Accordingly, one polling centre in Matara will have three queues, two in the Puttalam district and two polling centres in the Ratnapura District will be allowed tree queues to accommodate the larger number of voters.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held between the presidential candidates and their representatives at the Election Commission yesterday (14).

At this meeting they had decided to increase the number of polling centre representatives from their parties to three.
