GMOA in hot water after Jasinghe refutes their claims

Director General of Health Services - Dr. Anil Jasinghe has said that a recent statement made by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) was false.

Several days back, the GMOA had called to expedite Covid-19 testing, claiming that around 42000 persons have been identified as close contacts of Covid-19 patients in the country.

Speaking to the 'Aruna' newspaper on this regard, Dr. Jasinghe had said that the number of PCR testing has been increased and testing will also commence soon at the Kotalawala Defense University Hospital, Maharagama Apeksha Hospital, Polonnaruwa Hospital and Jaffna Hospital.

Dr. Jasinghe refuting the GMOA claims had created mini shockwaves across the health sector, sources say.

Meanwhile, addressing a media briefing in Colombo recently, Government Medical Officers Forum Dr. Rukshan Bellana had said that the GMOA had deceived the president.
