Thousands book train tickets online

The Department of Railways say that around 16,000 public and private sector employees have booked train seats online.

Deputy General Manager of the Railways - Saman Polwattege stated that train seats have been reserved in this matter for them to reach their respective workplaces in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager of the Sri Lanka Transport Board - A.H.S. Abeywickrama said that SLTB buses will operate islandwide from tomorrow (26).

Also, the Ministry of Transport Services Management has announced that inter-city buses will be operated islandwide (except in Colombo and Gampaha districts) from tomorrow onwards.

On Saturday, the government announced that curfew will be effective only between 10.00pm to 4.00am daily in all districts from May 26th until further notice.

People’s movements between districts, except in Colombo and Gampaha, will be permitted from tomorrow onwards.
