The victims were identified as a 59-year-old father, 55-year-old mother, and their 34-year-old daughter, who were residents of Kelaniya.
The remains of the triple murder victims were brought to Sri Lanka yesterday via a special SriLankan Airlines repatriation flight from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
General Manager of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment - Mangala Randeniya said the trio was strangled to death inside their residence in March this year. However, closure of airports and suspension of international flights had delayed repatriating the bodies.
Relatives of the victims have stated they suspect a close associate of the 34-year old victim to be responsible for the murders.
The suspect had reportedly returned from Qatar.
Further investigations are underway.
