The latest patients to succumb to Covid-19 are a 71-year old female from Peliyagoda and a 46-year old male from Athurugiriya.

Accordingly, the total number of fatalities now stand at 276.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 09.40pm today (Jan. 21), the total number of cases found today is at 887, which is a new daily high.

The total number of infections is at 56,076.

It adds that there are 7,816 patients under medical care, 47,984 recoveries and 276 fatalities at the moment.
