Mixed reaction to govt's move to keep asymptomatic COVID patients at homes Featured

The government's decision to monitor and treat asymptomatic COVID19 patients at their homes from Monday onwards has received mixed reactions from the health sector.

The GMOA has commended the decision, saying it would help to contain the spreading of the virus.
But the PHI Association has criticised the move, expressing fears that it would lead to some other problems.

Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control State Minister Dr Sudarshani Fernandopulle previously said they would monitor and treat asymptomatic COVID19 patients at their homes from Monday (17).

She said asymptomatic patients who tested positive for COVID-19 with the PCR test would be directed to their homes for treatment and would be monitored by health officials. However, she said steps would be taken to admit them to hospitals if they come up with complications..
