The amended draft has now been given to the AG, and it says all powers relating to surcharges should be enforced by the finance ministry secretary.
The president has told parliament that the draft national audit act would be tabled in the House in April.

The clauses which empower the auditor general in relation to surcharges have been dropped from the draft National Audit Act, reports say.
