The Cinnamon Gardens police has informed Court No 01 at Hulftsdorp of the incident and subsequently, magistrate Lal Bandara had granted him bail.

Kularatne, an old boy of St. Thomas’s College is an organising committee member of the above mentioned match.

The victim is still being treated at the Asiri Surgical Hospital and has already missed the school Term Test, reports add.

Earlier, media reported that the Cinnamon Gardens police were pressured not to arrest the suspect.
