CIABOC reports progress on Pandora Papers probe

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been briefed on the progress of the Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of Bribery or Corruption regarding Sri Lankans exposed through the Pandora Papers, the Presidential Media Unit said.

The relevant notice was sent to the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on October 06 by the Director-General, Legal Affairs at the Presidential Secretariat, Harigupta Rohanadheera.

In response, the Commission's Director General W.K.D. Wijeratne submitted a report dated 2021.11.08, according to the Presidential Media Unit.

The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has informed that the reports containing the bank account details of Thirukumar Nadesan have been called from various banks and financial institutions and are currently being received.

As the investigation has not been completed, the final report will be issued after the summoned reports and other investigations are carried out.

However, the Bribery Commission has not yet questioned former minister Nirupama Rajapaksa, whose name appears in the Pandora papers.
