Colombo Municipal authorities fear that if an alternative location is not found soon the residents of Colombo will face a huge issue with the over 10,000 tons of garbage collecting in Colombo daily.

However, the authorities said under the current situation, there is absolutely no possibility of dumping garbage in Meethotamulla again.

Piliyandala an alternative?

Meanwhile, the authorities have identified several other location for the disposal of garbage.
Piliyandala Karadiyana, Ja-Ela and Puttalam are several other locations the authorities are considering for the disposal of garbage.
