Mr. Weeraratne, an award winning political columnist was also the former editor-in-chief of the 'Irudina' newspaper.

Deepthi Kumara Gunaratne, who functioned as the editor-in-chief of the 'Sath Handa' so far, has been appointed as the Editorial Director of the newspaper.

'Sath Handa', is published by People's Power Media (Pvt.) Ltd. which is chaired by former Sunday Leader editor - Mandana Ismail.
