It was reported that that Mr. Fernando was to join the Joint Opposition and he had even met former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Japan once.

 

Meanwhile, it was also reported that a heated exchange of words took place during the recent SLFP CC meeting between Mr. Fernando and former President  Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
