Jaliya Wickremesooriya remanded (Update)

The Colombo Fort Magistrate today (18) ordered Former Ambassador to the US - Jaliya Wickremesooriya to be remanded till December 02.

Wickremesooriya was arrested earlier today at the BIA in Katunayake.

Jaliya Wickramasooriya arrested

Former Sri Lankan ambassador to United States - Jaliya Wickramasooriya has been arrested at Katunayaka Bandaranaike International Airport by the FCID for misusing state funds.

The FCID prevented Wickramasuriya from leaving the country on Wednesday. Police sources said the former Ambassador would be produced before court today.

Following his arrest in early this morning, he has been quizzed by the the FCID until 10.00am.
