Meanwhile, speaking at a meeting in the Deraniyagala area yesterday, General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Minister Kabir Hashim said that the PM voluntarily agreed to give a statement to the Commission at any time.

"It's hard to see politicians like him acting with responsibility, and transparency in any country," Mr. Hashim said.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry will end its term on December 8, 2017.
