President summons party leaders meeting

President Maityhripala Sirisena has called a party leaders meeting to discuss the Treasury bond report.

The President’s Secretary Austin Fernando had sent letters to the party leaders notifying them of the meeting to be held today (29) at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President is said to have called this meeting due to allegations by some that the bond report submitted to parliament is missing a considerable amount of pages and also to discuss the bond debate to be held in parliament.

In addition they are also expected to discuss the report of the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate large scale corruption and fraud.
The President’s Secretary had further notified the party leaders that in the event they are unable to attend the meeting, a representative should be nominated to represent the party.
