The fees related to obtaining a National Identity Card (NIC) have been revised.
Accordingly, a fee of Rs.200 should be paid for obtaining a NIC for the first time. A fee of Rs.1,000 has to be paid for obtaining a duplicate of the NIC.
Also, a fee of Rs.500 will be charged for issuing a revised copy of NIC and Rs.200 will be charged for issuing a new NIC instead of an expired one.
The Ministry of Public Security has issued the gazette stating that the amendments will be effective from November 1.
