Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) and Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) Acts will be repealed to allow an open and fair market.
He has also added that the Nursing vocation is going to be opened to students who studied all streams, not just science.
Meanwhile, the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) will be sought to implement an accredited ‘Benchmark 4’ lab, the highest accreditation for drug testing, in Sri Lanka, according to the minister.
“Arresting the selfish actions of those who have mischievous political intentions and are intent on collapsing the health sector and opposing those who want to ensure a drugs monopoly is my paramount focus,” he further notes.
