The National Transport Commission (NTC) today (Jan. 01) announced that there will be no bus fare revision despite the fuel price hike
In a statement, NTC Chairman – Shashi Welgama says that according to the National Bus Fare Policy, bus fares can only be increased if a fuel price increase leads to a 4% increase in the total running cost.
However, no fare hike will be implemented since the running cost increase falls short of this threshold, he adds.
