No fuel price revision or shortage – CPC

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has issued a statement confirming that there will be no revision of fuel prices for March 2025.

The corporation further announced that fuel will continue to be sold at the current prices, which are :

• Petrol 92: Rs. 309
• Petrol 95: Rs. 371
• White Diesel: Rs. 286
• Super Diesel: Rs. 331

• Kerosene: Rs. 183

Meanwhile, Chairman of the CPC  – Ananda Rajakaruna has assured the public that there will be no shortage of fuel in the country.

He emphasized that retailers have not confirmed any stoppage of fuel orders and that the distribution of fuel is proceeding as usual, he has urged the public not to panic.

Speaking to media, he has added that the required fuel stocks for the following day have already been ordered.

However, vehicle queues were seen near fuel stations in certain areas.

Earlier in the day, the Petroleum Dealers Association stated that they will cease placing new fuel orders with effect from midnight today after the CPC took steps to abolish the 3% discount currently available to them and to make payments according to a new formula.
