Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne has removed all his belongings from the office of the IGP due to his retirement from June 26, sources at the Police Headquarters said.
A senior police officer said that all the items except the furniture in the IGP’s room have been removed since the 27th.
Sources said that IGP Wickramaratne has not reported to office since 26 and the administrative activities of the Police Department have been hampered due to the absence of an IGP to approve any documents and assign duties and responsibilities.
Even though four days have passed since IGP Wickramaratne left, a new IGP has not been appointed yet.
