A four-year-old Russian girl who was left alone after the death of her mother in the train-three-wheeler collision that took place at the Maharamba railway crossing in Galle yesterday (01) was kept in a preschool until last night, police said.
Aruna newspaper reported that the child has been living in a ‘villa’ in the Unawatuna area with the mother and that they have no relatives in the country.
The child will be placed at the preschool until relatives are found through the embassies.
The preschool is also said to have been operated by the deceased Russian woman.
