Elections Commission’s Chairman Nimal G. Punchihewa said the notice on calling nominations for the Local Government election will be issued today (04).
Accordingly, he said that steps will be taken to issue the relevant notice to District Returning Officers today.
He said the announcement will be published by the District Returning Officers tomorrow (05).
All the details related to the election, including the acceptance of bond and the number of candidates will be mentioned in the notice and the acceptance of nominations will be done after 14 days from tomorrow.
Mr. Punchihewa said the acceptance of nominations will be done for three and a half days and then the date of the election will be announced.
