The National People’s Power (NPP) has firmly denied media reports implicating the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), a key ally of the NPP, in the recent clash at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, which resulted in the university’s closure.
Speaking to the media, former NPP MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa clarified, “Various parties are attempting to pass the blame onto the NPP, but we have no connection to the incident.”
He further stated that the allegations reflect the agitation within opposition camps facing an anticipated loss in the upcoming Presidential Election.
