Over 550,000 appeals and objections have been received so far with regard to the Aswesuma welfare benefit programme, the Finance Ministry said.
It said the investigations are currently underway and that committees have been established at the divisional secretariat-level to investigate the appeals and objections.
The public can file appeals and objections till July 10.
The people who lost the Samurdhi benefit due to the Aswesuma welfare benefit programme held protests across the country recently.
