One person has been killed during a clash involving 06 fishermen who were at sea off Beruwala onboard a multi day fishing trawler named “Sahan Putha”, reports say.
It is also reported that the remaining fishermen have also sustained injuries in the incident.
The body of the deceased has been identified as one M.K. Upul Chandana, who is a resident of Rockland Watta area in Maggona.
The body has been brought ashore onboard the same trawler.
A police investigation has been launched over a complaint made by the owner of the fishing trawler.
