State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Janaka Wakkambura has said plans are afoot to conduct payment activities for all Local Government institutions through an online system.
These activities are to be implemented through a mobile phone application which is to be launched by March 31, 2024, according to the State Minister.
Earlier, the Ministry said this online payment system is already in place at 69 local government institutions and that payment of taxes including assessment taxes is underway through the online system in those local government institutions.
