A total of 34 train services out of 210 had been cancelled today, Railway Department Deputy General Manager (Commercial) V.S. Polwattage said.
He said priority had been given to operating long-distance train services during the new year period and after the new year.
“The cancelled train services were provincial services, and that will not affect the entire service,” he said.
However, most of the provincial train services were operated by managing the available number of staff.
