Colombo Chief Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday (Sep. 25) ordered all police OICs to record complaints of thousands who had been victimized by the Onmax DT Pyramid fraud.
Although a large number of persons had fallen prey to this fraud, the complaints have not been recorded properly, the Colombo Chief Magistrate has said.
Therefore he ordered to finalise a relevant form to lodge such complaints and ordered the SDIG in charge of police administration to inform all OICs to accept them.
Attorney-At-Law Namal Rajapaksa, who represented the aggrieved parties, had informed that the victims are hoping for a speedy relief.
Courts were also informed that there are around 2000 – 3000 persons in several such aggrieved groups.
Lawyers representing the suspects have said that their clients have provided details pertaining to 65,000 depositors.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate also ordered the third suspect of the case – Sampath Sandaruwan, who is a Director of Onmax DT, to appear before the CID on Oct. 04 to provide a statement.
He was also ordered to handover plans pertaining to 05 properties on that day to obtain necessary valuation reports.
