Opposition MPs resign from COPE

A group of Opposition MPs including Dayasiri Jayasekara, Charitha Herath, Hesha Vithanage, Nalin Bandara, Shanakkiyam Rasaputhram and S.M. Marikkar resigned from the Committee on Public Engterprises (COPE).

MPs Dayasiri Jayasekara, Hesha Vithanage, Nalin Bandara and Shanakkiyam Rasaputhram told a news conference at the Parliament Complex that they have resigned from the COPE.

They said they could not function as the members of the COPE under its current Chairman Rohitha Abeygunawardan.

SJB MP Eran Wickramaratne resigned from the COPE yesterday.
