Over 200 trade unions in the public sector, including Grama Niladhari officers and surveyors will resort to trade union action by reporting ‘sick’ today (July 08) and tomorrow (July 09).
However, the teachers and the principals will be reporting sick only on Tuesday.
The widespread TU action, which is expected to cripple the state sector, seeks several demands, including receiving a stipend of 25,000 rupees regardless of service grade.
