The Kandy Division Crime Investigation Unit has commenced investigations to arrest a car sales dealer, who is said to be the son-in-law of former Ports and Shipping Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena.
The investigation is over the possession of a Mitsubishi type jeep with no chassis and a BMW car which were recently found in Kandy. Both vehicles have been found to be illegally assembled here, reports say.
Reporting before the Kandy courts, police have yesterday (Nov. 12) taken measures to obtain an overseas travel ban against one Isuru Seram, who is said to be a brother of the former minister’s son-in-law.
