Overseas travel ban on MR temporarily lifted
The Fort Magistrate’s Court today (08) temporarily lifted the overseas travel ban that was imposed on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa for a 10-day period.
Accordingly, the ban is to be lifted from April 20 – April 30.
Mr. Rajapaksa’s lawyer had requested the court to lift the overseas travel ban as his client was required to travel to South Korea to attend a conference.
The ban was imposed over the attack on anti-government protesters at the Galle Face Green in 2022.
